Evans also began performing exhibition shows, eventually displaying her riding skills in front of tens of thousands of fans at AMA Grand National Championship and AMA Supercross events. She became known for a trick in which she would balance her motorcycle with the kickstand up and perform a headstand on the seat. She appeared in the 1980 motorcycle documentary film, Take It To The Limit, performing her trademark headstand on a motorcycle.

Film industry career
Evans' exceptional riding ability eventually led her to work in the American film industry as a stunt rider. She became so successful as a stunt performer that it became her full-time job. Evans has appeared in over 200 movies and television shows, including motorcycle stunt work in The Matrix Reloaded as well as in The Fast and the Furious film franchise.

Just outside of Birmingham, Alabama is the world's largest collection of motorcycles - housed at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum! Jeff talks about how the collection was acquired, celebrities that have visited and the restoration process.

In 1949, Foshee died from a heart attack and was replaced by the sixteen-year-old Gerald Williams, who was also the bass singer for the quartet. The group also ceased to be associated with Stamps-Baxter at this time. Joe Roper took over the group, and they renamed themselves Smilin’ Joe Roper and the Melody Boys.

The quartet began to gain popularity throughout the 1950s. In addition to performing every weeknight as well as at different churches and music conventions every weekend, they began doing a radio broadcast program on the Little Rock station KARK-AM (now KARN) three times a day. The program consistently opened with the group’s most popular song, “Give the World a Smile.” The Melody Boys later became the first Southern gospel music group from Arkansas to have a television program; they began performing live on KARK TV in 1954. The Melody Boys also performed at the first National Quartet Convention in 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 1998, Hock launched, and was editor-in-chief of, Close Quarter Combat Magazine, a publication sold in 26 countries for 5 years, and a publication that became the bedrock of many self-defense, “martialist,” and combatives organizations that are still growing and flourishing today.
