Get your holiday lights and music display kits ready because it's finally time for Hatewatch Holidays 2020! We're kicking off the festivities with A Treat for Christmas... A Christmas Treat... Christmas for Treat... Treatmas? Whatever you want to call it, the important thing here is that our Treat Dad Treat Williams is in not one but two holiday films this year. After a lengthy discussion about the user experiences of streaming services that end in Plus, we're off to the races with The Christmas House, Hallmark's first endeavor to win over the gays. Honestly, it's not as bad as we thought it would be, despite some dicey plot choices (looking at you, fixer-upper on the Hudson). It's another story altogether for Christmas on the Square, arguably the biggest disappointment of our holiday movie season. We're gonna commission an episode of Handsome Justice to investigate the claim of whether angels can fly because they take themselves lightly and also why this movie is so bad. For those of you who haven't trained Google to push notify you with news about Sam Heughan, we spend more time than we ought to (and yet not nearly enough time???) discussing his new film Text For You/SMS Fur Dich/Text For Dick. Then it's time for a Romcomducation History Lesson™️ about teen romcoms from the early aughts, a time when we were all apparently CLAMORING for movies about teenage presidential daughters. The important takeaway from all this is that Chasing Liberty is the better of these films based on the ~Matthew Goode wearing men's bell bottoms~ factor alone.

While we aren't sure The Dog House is for us, the show that decidedly IS for us is The Great Pottery Throwdown (or as we so confidently call it, The Great British Throwdown - at some point all show names are the same). We learn about ceramics, we learn about how horny pottery can be, there's history lessons... and we won't spill the beans here but it's possible we may even have a new addition to the Dad Canon. Then we head to Aldovia to reunite with Queen Amber, in A Christmas Prince 3: The Trilogy We Never Asked For. I'm sorry, :The Royal Baby. We're bringing the hot takes on birth plans, contractions, paint rollers, feminism, and the naming conventions of fictional countries. With the Hatewatch Holidays winding down, it's time to start looking ahead to two of our favorite annual traditions, The Really Fucking Good Television Award Show For Nice People Only, and Pilot Palooza. Stay tuned for next year when we inevitably cover Christmas In Evergreen 4: Small Boy Gets Another Key and Everybody Goes To Therapy. Our second film this week is Sense, Sensibility, and Snowmen, which carries on the Hallmark tradition of disgracing Jane Austen's good name for the sake of Christmas content. Also, the podcast would like to note that the jingle bells in this episode is not in fact our own festive sound effect but rather the resident pod dog channeling the spirit of Christmas with his collar. Once we get over our feelings about that (and begin our letter writing campaign), we meet our new friends Dick Strawbridge and Willie Fedora over at Cabins in the Wild. This segment includes Dragon themed cabins, live reports from Snowdonia National Park, and everybody's favorite time - Kirstie and Kelsey google some things about pioneer life. Then we move on to House Doctor (how can I help?), where we meet yet another bag of dicks, Grumpy Old Dickie. We learn a lot about rooms with a point of view and our point of view is that this show is a disaster. This episode wraps up with a discussion of the maple syrup grading system, so don't miss that. Then we discuss the 1995 film Nine Months, a nice and accidental tie in from recent events from Hatewatch Nation. Chris Columbus gets back on his bullshit, Hugh Grant is a dweeb, and y'all get the birth story you never asked for. After all, the big childbirth scene is every actresses dream??? The plot really thickens when we find cause to give thanks to Chris Columbus, which brings a whole new meaning to Columbus Day.

We delve deep into Pinterest, the Cottage Life Convention, and all four of their featured shows. Kelsey then insults Kirstie's motherland, and we all come out of it about as well as the emasculated home owners at the end of their cottage renos.

A long time ago, in a podcast far far away.... Episode 2, George Takes the Wheel. The greedy Trade Federation has stopped all haircuts in all the films of 2005, making this the Year Without the Haircut for jedis, wizards, and elves alike. Over 20,000 Jedi Blood Bacteria have threatened to leave the podcast under the leadership of Anakin Skywalker and Jonah Ryan's 2020 presidential bid. There are heros on both sides somehow inexplicably. Jedi Blood Magic has swept into the Republic in search of the Three Eyed Emo, Anakin Skywalker, who has taken time away from his presidential campaign to finish his degree from the DanRad School of Acting. While the congress endlessly debates this distressing turn of events, all of the women leave the galaxy with their OBGYNs, leaving Natalie Portman alone with nothing but George Lucas and a bad trip to the beach. Kirstie and George Lucas both have burning questions which were only resolved when George Ask Jeeved. Star Wars Produce are returning to the set to cast their final vote on just how stupid George Lucas really thinks the American public has been at various points in film and food history.

Announced on Sept 18th, 2011, Netflix made a life choice that they regretted and rectified by October 10th, 2011. Kelsey has had this day marked on her google calendar ever since. We chose to commemorate this mistake by watching the new Netflix Original: The Adventures of Bobby Draper. Sorry, I meant White Gold. Cross over universes this week included the Grand Designs tour of Dany's Bespoke Dragonstone Throne, Bran Potter and the Goblet of Winterfell, House of (Ice and Fire) Cards, and The Office. Sorry, there were no funny puns for that one. We also jumped aboard the #noconfederate bandwagon. We're off the next two weeks for vacation, but join us again for Episode 6 later in August! What do we do when people watch bad television, people are wrong about television, people don't like our input on television, television becomes a proxy for these, our modern times or people are too attached to Game of Thrones? Honestly, we aren't actually sure. Join us for a long and wandering journey through our feelings, insecurity, and soul searching in an attempt to avoid crushing the spirits of other TV watchers. There's no right or wrong way to tell this story, except this is maybe wrong.

It's a high stakes game of sibling rivalries, stray pets, and alternative cross-over universes, complete with grammar lessons, dick-less jokes, and food that looks like STDs. Oh, and the Li'l Finger News Bulletin is coming in hot, perhaps foreshadowing the outcome of our Fantasy League, so get ready to place your bets on the House Snark's JV team!
