Episode 194: Church & State

The first 16 words, of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America are: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." (the rest of the Amendment reads as follows: "...or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.") But it's those first 16 words that is the focus of Ep #194.

The phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in the Constitution... but it would seem as if the "idea" certainly does! However, some Americans are looking to do away with that idea. Episode 189: Death of the 4th Estate!

The 4th Estate is a name given to the "press/news media/journalist" that primarily covers the Government & Political Officials. Journalists that investigate and report on Government & Political Officials preform an important role in our society! They help "link" the citizens & the government together and they help keep the government "in check"... or at least, that is what they should be doing!

Kris believes, however, that we are witnessing the "Death of the 4th Estate!" For some time, bias has been creeping into journalism... and more & more, "journalists" act as "commentators, with opinions" instead of "journalist"... which, doesn't have to be a bad thing, as long as everyone is honest about it & the citizens can balance out their intake.

However, the greatest problem is, the fact that so many Public Officials have decided they are just simply not going to take criticism from... anyone, anymore! And this is where this episode takes the listeners. This is the first part, in what will be a multiple episode look at "journalism", "criticism" and how society, can better hold Government & Political Officials accountable!

The debate was organized by the Jay County Freedom Coalition and was held on Monday, March 28th, 2022. The disillusionment with the Republican Party continues as Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey discusses a weird republican event he attended recently. The fakery was on full display as everyone was trying to "one up" each other with how over the top nice they were "trying to be!" Or the attempts to "outdo" each other with the "charity work" they do (which really calls into question the motives for doing the work.) And the really strange act of trying to "Out Jesus" each other... along with many other really odd behaviors. Bottom line, IT'S ALL FOR SHOW! But the Democrats do the same things, just with their causes. Like trying to see who's “more woke”, or “more anti-police &/or anti-constitution”, all while attempting to drive politics so far left it's not even recognizable anymore. Meanwhile, citizens like Kris, are just so tired of it and want COMMON SENSE to return... they are left dumbstruck and screwed over! BUT... they are starting to fight back against the nonsense. The Sheriff's Dept. & the 911 Call Center are some of the LOWEST PAID employees in Indiana which means they can not compete with many other agencies looking to hire! Out of 18 agencies of comparable (or smaller) size that were surveyed, 15 had starting salaries for deputies/officers higher than Delaware County. THIS CAN & SHOULD BE FIXED!

The Delaware County Commissioners should publicly support the Delaware County Council in voting on a plan proposed by the Delaware County Sheriff to give raises to his employees! AND YOU CAN HELP!!!

You can email the Commissioners & the Council... to tell the Commissioners to support the Council in voting on the plan and telling the Council to vote on the plan! Then ask these officials to email you back letting you know where they stand!

Citizens in the State of Michigan were some of the first to start fighting back and Rachel Atwood, while shopping for her family at a Meijer, had enough and became one of those citizens! Now she is involved in the fight to take back her and her family's rights... and it's not because she is crazy about politics, nor is it because she is just "plain crazy"... NO! It's because of the situation her family is in where THEIR routine is needed! And disruption from the Government can be very harmful.

EXAMPLE: the Delaware County, Indiana Emergency Management Director stated in a "Covid 19" update to the citizens of the County, on 04.03.20, that the EMA is utilizing a website that collects "anonymous data" from citizens' cell phones to see movement trending in Delaware County! He then called the results "poor".

This is MAJOR overreach! And when pressed about it... the supporters of these actions say "the feds have been doing it forever" or "the cell phone companies have been doing it forever" NONE OF WHICH IS OK! We must stand firm in saying the answer CAN NOT BE: "If everyone else is doing it, they might as well too!" It is not ok when anyone does this and we talk about this and much more, in this episode, including: does Delaware County, IN need 200 body bags or is that just "fear mongering"?

NO... Michael was dead before he went into the water... and police, along with Michael's family, NEED YOUR HELP!

We take a look at a few examples of how apathy has caused people to now act differently than we once would have: how one community refuses to call out a Candidate that is accused of Domestic Violence... how there are citizens that will not fight for other citizens' rights, even when they are violated... how people "say" they want change and want things to be better in their communities, but they aren't willing to put forward the work it takes to make the communities better (low voter turnout)...

This recording is of my 2 quick conversations with Bob McCoy (R) & Bill Richmond (D) Candidates for Mayor of Winchester, Indiana... after the Candidate Forum that was held on Monday, September 30th, 2019!

They have both been running for office since February of 2019 and have both refused to answers questions! After the Forum I was able to catch them one on one... where I was able to get some pretty unbelievable stuff!

First off, the 2 Candidates running against each other made an agreement back at the start of the race, between themselves and some other folks that ARE NOT RUNNING AS CANDIDATES, that they would not talk with me!

Then, when I first get to talk with Bob McCoy I ask if he was going to talk with me or hide from me and he said he "wouldn't interview with me" and I said I wasn't asking him for an interview... I was asking him as a voter in that election... and he said that was fine... then he said "he was concerned with what gets twisted" I then asked him what got twisted and that is where he finally let me know the real reason he wouldn't talk to me... he said "who did you endorse in the last election?" MEANING... he was mad that I endorsed his opponent in the 2018 County Council race... after I interviewed with both candidates!

SOOO even though I treated him fairly... and respectfully! He was just upset that I endorsed his opponent in another race!

He then stated another reason he hasn't had a chance to talk with me is because he has been "SOOO BUSY"! He went on to say that "his life has gotten so busy that had he known all this he would have withdrawn from the race!"

We then agreed that I would write out my questions and send them to him!

I then sent him a question asking if he would be quitting his full-time job and if he would be acting as a full-time Mayor, if elected and he then decided he WOULD NOT ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS!

I then approached Bill Richmond, Bob's opponent and asked if we could talk... and as you will hear, Bill decides if he will talk to me only after he asks his opponent (Bob) that I just talked to... RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, lol... you'll hear it all!

The discussion then moves into remembering the soldiers that landed on the Beaches of Normandy on D-Day on Tuesday, June 6th, 1944. We take a look at the 75th anniversary of that historic day. That is then applied to how we, as citizens today, must approach our interactions with our elected officials. The American Spirit and using the "tools at hand" are discussed as we also hear an example of what can happen if you "fight city hall"! {In memory of the men that gave their lives during Operation Overlord 06.04.44}.

He examines the self fulfilling prophecies brought on by inaction before taking a walk back through history looking at the Founding Fathers, sometimes referred to as "The Dregs of Society"... they weren't who your elementary books said, they were more normal than that! We also look at another group of heroes thrust into having to decide to take action, or not, and we cover what their vote meant for them and for us... sadly it cost them their lives... but it was on their terms! We then wrap up going over what we can do as the NEW "Dregs of Society"! "Are you ready? Let's Roll!"
